Seattle-based retail giant Zulily finally has a new leader.

Former Amazon executive and Shopbop CEO Jeff Yurcisin will serve as the company’s president starting Aug. 15, Zulily announced Tuesday, filling a leadership hole left by longtime CEO Darrell Cavens.

Cavens left his role in October to lead new ventures for QVC’s Qurate Retail Group. That group includes Zulily, which QVC bought for $ 2.9 billion in 2015.

Zulily has been growing at a blistering pace in the past few months. In the first quarter of 2018, its revenue increased 17 percent and its customer base grew 24 percent to 6.1 million users on top of significant growth in 2017.

Yurcisin brings a heft of experience to capitalize on that growth. He has spent the past 14 years as an executive and director at Amazon, leading several of the company’s clothing retail efforts. He was most recently the VP of Softline Private Brands, Amazon’s private fashion labels, and formerly served as the VP of all Amazon clothing. He also spent seven years as the CEO of subsidiary Shopbop, an online clothing retailer that Amazon bought in 2006.

His departure marks yet another high-level executive poached away from Amazon, following a string of departures among executives leading AI, voice technology and more.

“Jeff has a strong track record of inspiring his teams to defy convention, find new ways to delight customers and drive growth,” Quarate Retail CEO Mike George said in a press release. “With his passion for innovation in retail, Jeff is an ideal executive to build on Zulily’s momentum. In addition, Jeff will help us nurture and leverage the entrepreneurial spirit that makes Zulily such an asset for the entire Qurate Retail Group.’”

Lori Twomey, a longtime Zulily executive who has been leading the company as interim president, will stay on in her former role as the company’s chief merchant after Yurcisin starts his new role. She has served as Zulily’s chief merchant since 2009, before even the launch of zulily.com.

“I would like to thank Lori for serving as interim president, in addition to her responsibilities as chief merchant, as she and the Zulily leadership team continued to drive the business forward and grow by 17 percent during Q1,” George said.
