Global ransomware attack spreads through Europe

A major ransomware attack is affecting businesses across Europe. Organizations in Ukraine and Russia seem to be the hardest hit. The attack affected the Chernobyl nuclear power plant which has been forced to manually monitor radiation levels because its Windows-based sensors were compromised. Some experts are saying the malware exploits the same weaknesses as last month’s Wannacry attack, which targeted a since-patched Microsoft vulnerability.
