Moto Z2 Play now available in the U.S.

The recently-announced Moto Z2 Play is now available to pre-order in the United States through Verizon. The handset is available in two colors — gray and gold — and carries a price tag of $ 408 outright or $ 17 per month as part of a two-year installment plan.

Unveiled on June 1, the Moto Z2 Play is Motorola’s latest mid-range smartphone. It ships with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 525 processor, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery.

The main reason you’re going to want to pick up the Moto Z2 Play is because it supports Moto Mods, which allows you to add a slew of additional attachments to your device, including a GamePad and a JBL SoundBoost 2.

Speaking of the latter, Verizon has revealed that it will be throwing in a free JBL SoundBoost 2 with every order placed before July 26. Once you’ve made your purchase, you’ll need to head over to this website and enter your details by August 6.

No word on the unlocked variant

We still don’t know exactly when the unlocked variant will hit the shelves — so if you’re itching to get your hands on the Moto Z2 Play, you’ll have to pick one up for use on Verizon from either the carrier or manufacturer’s online store.
