Rogers executive vice president Raj Doshi says that the Canadian carrier has seen “tremendous customer excitement” and strong pre-orders for the iPhone X, Apple’s upcoming flagship smartphone.
More interestingly though, the carrier has altered its initial statement regarding the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, stating that demand is “good.” Rogers CEO Joe Natale previously characterized demand for the Apple’s iPhone 8 as “anemic,” an uncharacteristic statement for a Canadian carrier to make regarding one of the Cupertino, California-based tech giant’s products.
“We’re seeing tremendous customer excitement for iPhone X with strong customer pre-orders,” Executive VP Raj Doshi, said in a statement to Axios. “We’re also seeing good demand for the iPhone 8. We expect the two together will be very popular with our customers this holiday season with iPhone 8 being a major contributor,” reads the full statement from Doshi in an interview with Axion.
Apple released a statement saying that demand for the iPhone X is “off the charts.”
“We are thrilled to be taking orders for iPhone X, the future of the smartphone. We can see from the initial response, customer demand is off the charts. We’re working hard to get this revolutionary new product into the hands of every customer who wants one, as quickly as possible. We will keep accepting orders online, and iPhone X will be available at Apple retail stores on Friday, November 3 starting at 8 a.m., as well as from our carrier and retailer partners around the world,” reads Apple’s full statement.
Some iPhone X pre-orders slipped to December, according to MobileSyrup readers, with shipping ranging between three and six weeks.
Earlier reports indicated that iPhone X stock is expected to be limited due to OLED issues and problems with sourcing Face ID’s various components.
iPhone X pre-orders went live last night at 3:01am ET/12:01 PT in the Apple Store.
